Website Educates Consumers About the Affordable Care and Indian Health Care Improvement Acts
American Indians and Alaska Natives looking for information on their rights and new opportunities under the
Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Indian Health Care Improvement Act (IHCIA) can
look to Tribalhealthcare.org as a
resource. The website is a partnership among Indian Health Service (IHS), the
National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), the National Indian Health Board
(NIHB), and representatives from each of the 12 IHS Areas. Tribalhealthcare.org provides consumer
education materials and training tools for community representatives to clearly
explain health reform changes and their impact on tribal communities. Content
is divided into sections for individual consumers, health directors, tribal
employers and tribal governments. Printer-friendly materials are available to
provide to those who do not have access to the internet.
