Washington Bill Considers Retrocession of Civil Jurisdiction

Washington’s state legislature is considering a bill requiring the state to retrocede civil jurisdiction over Indians and Indian territory to the federal government and tribes.  Despite concerns raised about the effect on non-Indians, according to the Seattle Times, the bill is expected to pass.  See coverage from the Seattle Times as well as information on the bill available from the Washington State Legislature.
