June 26, 2013, President Obama signed an Executive Order establishing the White
House Council on Native American Affairs. The order seeks to enhance
government-to-government relations between tribes and the United States through
a more coordinated and effective development of policy and carrying out of
trust responsibilities. The council is to include high level officials
from more than thirty federal agencies and will be chaired by the Secretary of
